Do you Know: How much Sugar you need Daily? / A e dini se: Sa Sheqer duhet te Konsumoni ne Dite?

“Sugar is not good for your health”. This is the phrase we continuously hear around. Alert for being cautious about sugar consumption is the key word coming from physicians all the time. Unfortunately, there are some very bad news for this particular product, which is the symbol of sweet childhood’s memories. Scientists have found out that sugar is responsible for creation and growth of cancer cells. Finely refined sugar, the white sugar, is found to be the most ‘guilty’ one, due to its composition.

After hearing such news, everyone wonders: What is the safe amount of sugar we could eat in order to maintain under control the cancer risk, obesity risk, diabetes risk and heart diseases’ risk? The answer of this question is not a ‘good’ news for most sweets’ fans:

Women need only 25 gr sugar/day,

while Men need only 37 gr sugar/day.

If we ‘translate’ the above amounts into number of teaspoons: women need up to 6 teaspoons of sugar/day, while men need up to 9 teaspoons of sugar/day.

So, my dear friends, it’s time to give up your daily sweets, drop the sugar-added juices and drink freshly squeezed fruit juices. It’s time start drinking your tea without sugar, and reduce the amount of sugar you add to your coffee. Honey and other natural sweeteners could be a great replacement for sugar, however should you be keen to keep your weight under control, be cautious about their amount too.

But, the most important thing is to educate your children with low sugar food regime. This is definitely a challenge, as children are great fans of sweets. We, as parents, should proactively dedicate efforts in feeding our children in healthy way and to properly educate them about foods that damage their health.

Degjojme vazhdimisht se sheqeri eshte i demshem per shendetin dhe duhet te jemi te kujdesshem ne konsumin e tij. Se fundmi, lajme akoma me te keqija vijne per kete produkt, i cili mban kujtime te embla nga femijeria dhe me te cilin pergatiten ushqimet me te pelqyera. Shkencetaret thone se eshte zbuluar nje lidhje direkte mes konsumit te larte te sheqerit dhe krijimit dhe rritjes se qelizave kancerogjene. Nje peshe me te madhe ‘faji’ per kete gje mbart sheqeri i perpunuar (i bardhi), si edhe produktet e perpunuar dhe lengjet me sheqer te shtuar.

Pyetja e te gjitheve pasi degjojme lajme te tilla alarmuese eshte: Po sa sheqer duhet te konsumojme qe te ulim rrezikun e kancerit, mbipeshes dhe semundjeve te diabetit dhe te zemres? Pergjigjja nuk eshte aspak optimiste per adhuruesit e embelsirave:

Femrat kane nevoje per vetem 25 gr sheqer/dite,

ndersa meshkujt duhet te konsumojne vetem 37 gr sheqer/dite.

Kjo sasi e perkthyer ne numer lugesh caji: femrat duhet te konsumojne jo me shume se 6 luge caji sheqer/dite, ndersa meshkujt duhet te konsumojne jo me shume se 9 luge caji sheqer/dite.

Pra, te dashur miq eshte koha qe te filloni te hiqni dore nga embelsirat e perditshme, lengjet e frutave me sheqer te shtuar, qe shiten neper shishe plastike e kuti kartoni, dhe te konsumoni lengje frutash te porsashtrydhur. Eshte koha te filloni ta pini cajin pa sheqer dhe te ulni sasine e sheqerit qe perdorni te kafeja juaj. Mjalti eshte nje zevendesues i mrekullueshem i sheqerit, por nese nuk doni te shtoni ne peshe beni kujdes edhe me teprimin e sasise se konsumuar te mjaltit.

Mbi te gjitha, sigurohuni qe t’i edukoni femijet tuaj me nje regjim ushqimor me pak sheqer. Sigurisht, qe kjo nuk eshte e lehte duke mbajtur parasysh se femijet i duan shume embelsirat. Por ne emer te investimit per nje shendet te mire te femijeve, ne si prinder na takon te punojme ne menyre pro-aktive qe t’i ushqejme femijet shendetshem dhe me edukaten e duhur ne lidhje me ushqimet e demshme.
