How to Prepare Unbelievably Great Milk Pie – Byreku i Papare me Peta te Pjekura – Recete nga Nena XHENI

This is one of Grandma Xheni’s preferred recipes. It is easier to prepare in nowadays as we find the baked foils in almost every shop. Let’s start with the recipe: / Byreku me peta te pjekura eshte nje nga gatimet e preferuara te Nena Xhenit. Ne ditet e sotme pergatitja e ketij byreku eshte bere shume e thjeshte pasi pjesa me e madhe e punes, pergatitja e petave te pjekura, tashme eshte gati (pete te tilla shume cilesore shiten te gatshme me pako pothuajse ne cdo dyqan). Po fillojme menjehere me receten e byrekut te famshem me peta te pjekura:

Ingredients: / Perberesit:

1 packet of prepared baked foils / 1 pako peta te pjekura

5 eggs / 5 kokrra veze

1.5 litre of fresh milk / 1.5 litra qumesht

100 gr of unsalted butter / 100 gr gjalp lope

salt / kripe

Preparation: / Pergatitja:

Melt dhe butter and lubricate the pie-pan we shall use for the pie. Open the baked foils and check if they are of good quality (should be well baked and with normal color). Place the baked foil right next to the pie-pan. In a bowl, break the eggs, add little salt and mix well until is uniform. Add cold milk and continue mixing until the mixture is uniform. / Marrim nje pako me peta te pjekura, kujdes tregoni qe petet te jene te pjekura mire dhe te mos kene myk, i cili eshte lehtesisht i dallueshem me sy te lire. E hapim pakon dhe e veme prane tepsise qe do perdorim, te lyer paraprakisht me gjalp te shkrire. Thyejme vezet, iu shtojme pak kripe dhe i rrahim derisa te behen uniform. Shtojme qumeshtin e ftohte dhe e trazojme mire perzierjen derisa te behet e njetrajtshme.

Tear one piece of baked foil, randomly by hand, and plunge it into the liquid mixture. Take it out and place it in the pie-pan. Repeat the procedure until the end of pie-pan is fully covered with bedewed baked foils. With the help of kitchen brush, lubricate it with melted butter. Continue the procedure with other baked foils and lubricate any time two full layers are placed in the pie-pan. Spur the remaining of liquid mixture all around the pie-pan. Lubricate well the top part of the pie as it helps to make it nice and crispy. Bake the pie for 45 minutes at 200. But, as chefs say: “You know your oven”. Let the pie bake until is ready (as shown in the photo). / Nena Xheni e pergatit byrekun ne nje menyre unike te veten per te eleminuar qulljen e tepert te peteve. Ajo merr pjese nga petet e pjekura, duke i shkeputur rastesisht me dore, dhe i lyen ne perberjen e lengshme te pergatitur. I shtrin petet e lyera ne tepsi ne menyre qe te mos lere pjese bosh dhe tepsia te mbushet njesoj gjithandej. Sapo plotesohet nje shtrese prej 2 petesh te plota e lyejme perberjen me gjalpin e shkrire me anen e nje furce kuzhine. Vijojme me lagien dhe shtrimin e te gjitha peteve me rradhe, pa harruar qe t’i sperkatim me gjalp te shkrire cdo dy shtresa. Pasi i shtojme te gjitha petet, pjesen e mbetur te pergatitjes se lengshme e shperndajme neper tepsi. Ne fund e lyejme pjesen e siperme te byrekut me gjalpin e mbetur. Kujdesuni qe pjesa e siperme te lyhet plotesisht, pasi kjo ndihmon qe siperfaqja te behet krokante. E pjekim per 45 min me 200 grade.

Allow the pie to cool a bit and nicely cut it in pieces. Attention! Use a kitchen spatula to take out nicely the pieces of Milk Pie.
