The news of new lives joining the world is always a joyful one. It turns to be even more special when it comes to new lives of species threaten from distinction. I’m talking about the great news that came from the Safari Park Dvůr Králové, from Czech Republic.
Two baby lions were born two months ago there and they are Barbary Lions. For all of you that are familiar with the famous movie “Lion King”, Simba, Musafa and Shiva are of the race of Barbary Lions. Differently known as African Lions, Barbary lions used to live in the northern part of Africa, at the Barbary Coastal regions of Maghreb from the Atlas Mountains to Egypt.
Baby lions are one female and one male and are so cute. They represent hope for a species that is annihilated in wild since the ’60s, eradicated from the lions’ illegal hunting. Now they will be added to the remaining less than 100 Barbary lions living in captivity.
Visiting them into their Safari Park would be a fantastic day for our children and a great opportunity to educate them about planet conservation, animal protection and the big issue of species in risk of eradication. The story of these baby lions make the talk for all these crucial issues and will increase compassion and tenderness of children.
