How to Make Delicious Soup with Turkey

I like turkey meat and most of the time I cook chicken recipes with turkey meat. Today’s recipe is one of the success cases among my experiments to exchange chicken for turkey. It is one of the easy-to-make recipes Grandma Xheni brings to our attention, time after time. Here I go with the recipe:

Ingredients: / Ingredientes:

700 gr of turkey meat / 700 gr de carne de pavo

1 yellow onion / 1 cebolla amarilla

1 cockroach of garlic / 1 cucaracha de ajo

100 gr of wheat flour / 100 gr de harina de trigo

100 gr of tarhana / 100 gr de tarhana

1 egg / 1 huevo

Salt, white pepper, olive oil. / Sal, pimienta blanca, aceite de oliva.

Cut the turkey meat in average pieces (remove bones). In a plate place the wheat flout and coat the pieces of meat.

Me gusta la carne de pavo y la mayoría de las veces cocino recetas de pollo con carne de pavo. La receta de hoy es uno de los casos de éxito entre mis experimentos para intercambiar pollo por pavo. Es una de las recetas fáciles de preparar que Grandma Xheni llama nuestra atención, una y otra vez. Aquí voy con la receta:
Cortar la carne de pavo en trozos medios (quitar los huesos). En un plato coloque la harina de trigo y cubra los trozos de carne.

Put two soup spoons of olive oil in the stew-pot and fry the turkey meat well on both sides. Leave the fried meat aside.

Pon dos cucharadas soperas de aceite de oliva en la olla y fríe bien la carne de pavo por ambos lados. Deja la carne frita a un lado.

At the oil used to cook the meat, add chopped onion and garlic. Fry them, stirring, until they turn to light brown color.

En el aceite usado para cocinar la carne, agregue la cebolla picada y el ajo. Freírlos, revolviendo, hasta que se vuelvan de color marrón claro.

Add 1 liter of cold water to the preparation and the pieces of meat. Stir well and allow the meat to simmer in moderate heat until fully cooked. Dissolve the tarhana into a glass of cold water and add to the preparation. Tarhana is made out of natural yogurt (sour one) and has the ability to thicken the soup and to give it a bit of sour taste. Allow for the soup to boil for two minutes and regulate with salt and white pepper. As soon as the soup has reached the desired consistency, remove it from heat and add previously stirred egg by continuously stirring the soup.

Agregue 1 litro de agua fría a la preparación y los trozos de carne. Revuelva bien y permita que la carne hierva a fuego moderado hasta que esté completamente cocida. Disuelva la tarhana en un vaso de agua fría y agréguelo a la preparación. Tarhana está hecha de yogur natural (agrio) y tiene la capacidad de espesar la sopa y darle un poco de sabor agrio. Permita que la sopa hierva durante dos minutos y regule con sal y pimienta blanca. Tan pronto como la sopa haya alcanzado la consistencia deseada, retírela del fuego y agregue el huevo previamente agitado revolviendo continuamente la sopa.

Nicely serve the soup in a deep plate by placing some turkey pieces and soup around. Bon Appetite!
