Lifetime Collateral Damages of a Difficult Vocation

Construction workers have a difficult job. They have to wake up quite early in the morning, have to ‘fight’ with weather conditions, work with heavy weights and dangerous equipment, face on going injuries and sweat work.

But, these are not the most difficult things for construction workers. A recent study performed in USA, has ranked construction workers as number one vocation in risk for use of cocaine. Over 293,000 employees were asked about their profession, drug and alcohol policies in work place and use of drugs.

Researches find these results as not surprising at all, considering the level of injuries construction worker go through due to their work. Drugs’ usage starts as a way to reduce pain and gain strength, and stay with them for the rest of their lives. The situation of drug usage worsened when they face work-less days or other work problems.
